Disney/Pixar's latest offering, Wall-E is set to be the #1 movie at the box office this weekend and has already broke a few of the studios previous records.
The computer animated flick about a wide eyed robot who is the only remaning creature on a postapocalyptic Earth and is left to clean up is certainly cleaning up at the box office according to Friday estimates released by Box Office Mojo. It earned over $23 million, beating Pixar's previous record holder The Incredibles $20 million opening. It is also the third highest single day opening for an animated feature behind Shrek the Third and The Simpsons Movie.
Analysts predict the movie to open with more than $60 million. The film is also getting some of the best reviews of the year, with the word "masterpiece" used more than once. Complete weekend estimates will be released later today.
Angelina Jolie's latest action flick, Wanted, opened at #2 on Friday with more than $18 million.
