Now that Carrie Bradshaw is #1...

By now you've probably heard that the Sex and the City movie had a ginormous #1 opening making $68 million in 5 days. Like whoa!
How did this happen? Did all of the female 40 year old television series addicts open their doors and finally see sunlight again, or rather flourescent lights at the movie theaters for the first time since the series finale however many years ago? And more importantly, what happens next?
I haven't seen the movie (or any episode of the television series either, thank you very much) but I think I can forecast what might happen next:
A sequel. Yep. I heard the movie could make upwards of $200 million by time it's done in theaters.
Possible titles:
- Honeymoon's in the City
- Babies in the City
- Menopause in the City
- STD's in the City
- Another Wedding and a Funeral in the City
OR...they could go the summer blockbuster route and pair them with popular characters or familar storylines to ensure future success.
- Iron Samantha
- Legally Charlotte
- The Incredible Carrie Bradshaw
- Carrie Bradshaw and the Kingdom of the Monolo Balonick
- Get Tested
- Miranda Wears Prada
- The Passion of the Cosmo
AND: Also be on the lookout for more television turned movies, attributed to the success of this one:
- Golden Girls: The Movie
- Designing Women: The Movie
- Loveboat: The Movie
- Gunsmoke: The Movie
