Someone still likes Coldplay...a lot!

The members of Coldplay could possibly be some of the happiest men on the planet right now.
Their newest release Viva La Vida or Death and His Friends sold an astounding 721,000 copies in the week that ended Sunday according to Neilson Soundscan. I know, I could barely believe it either when my eyes caught the information via the news scroll on the E! channel.
That hasn't happened since 2005, when the band released their last CD X and Y. They can also add in another 288,000 sales in digital copies of the album, which broke the record set by Jack Johnson earlier this year.
The band will go on tour beginning July 14 in Los Angeles. Coldplay also became the first British band to enter the Billboard Hot 100 in 20 years, and has the number one single and fastest selling album of the year in the UK.
